TW Server End-of-Service Announced

The end-of-service for the Traditional Chinese-language server has officially been announced. The game will close in TW on December 24th, 2021 at 12:00.

This wiki will continue to support the JP server after this date. Additionally, the simplified Chinese (CN) server will continue to operate.

TW-server accounts will not be migrated to other servers, however players wishing to start new on JP can refer to the Installation guide either here or on Reddit. Players wishing to start new on CN can refer to the official Magia Record (CN) website.

Magia Day 2021

The annual Magia Day event was held for the first time since 2019 on 9/12.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's event was via livestream only.

As always, number of announcements were made, namely:

  • New Magical Girl Mizuna Tsuyu (release date and design TBA)
  • Doppel and uncaps to come in the next year for the following Magical Girls (release date TBA):
  • Main Story Release for Arc 2 Chapter 8 (planned release date: 12th November 2021)
  • Mirrors Ranking Season 12 (planned for 27th September 2021)
  • New event type: Battle Museum (planned for November 2021)
    • This will be a reoccuring monthly event and progress will persist across each run.
    • Magical Girl HP/MP will carry over from battle to battle. Defeated Magical Girls will no longer be usable.
  • New feature: Expedition (release date TBA)
    • Players will be able to send their Magical Girls on "expeditions", assigning them to explore various areas. In turn players will receive training materials and other items based on the area explored.
  • New feature: Illustration Archive Viewer (release date TBA)
    • Allows players to view full-screen illustrations, such as those from event stories.
  • New feature: Mirrors Battle Replay Viewer (release date TBA)
    • Allows players to watch replays of their Mirrors battles.
    • Scene0 still under development.
  • Magia Record Season 2 Blu-Ray announced (planned release date: 24th November 2021)
    • Players who purchase the Blu-Ray will be able to redeem the serial code for a limited personal Memoria, 1 x Over Limiter - Core, 1 x Guaranteed 4* Magical Girl ticket, 2,000,000 CC, and an Awakening/Strengthening Materials set.
  • Official Iroha & Madoka figures will be available again for a limited run. A special bonus bundle is also available on the JP store featuring both figures, plus a signed autograph by Aoki Ume (main character designer for the Madoka Magica series) (pre-orders open until 5th October 2021)

The full stream will be available for viewing until 9/19 23:59 JST on Youtube (note that the stream is in Japanese).

Magia Day Retweet Campaign

For hitting the retweet target of 4444, and as an apology for the delay in Magia Day starting, all players who have logged in at least once after 6/5 and cleared Main Story Arc 1 Chapter 1 Episode 2 Battle 2 will receive 500 Magia Stones at the next maintenance on 9/13 at 16:00 JST.

Season 2 Starts 7/31

The 2nd season of the TV Anime will begin airing at 7/31 00:00 JST. The new series features a new OP by ClariS titled Careless and a new ED by TrySail titled Lapis.

For viewers outside Japan, the anime will be aired on Funimation from 7/31, and on Crunchyroll, and HDDive from 8/7 09:30 AM PDT.

In the buildup to this, starting 07/03 all episodes of Season 1 will be re-aired in Japan and will be available again on streaming services.

UPDATED - Anime 2nd Season Release Campaign

To celebrate the new anime season, starting 07/03 00:00 JST for 12 weeks, players get a free 10-spin on the Rare Gacha every Saturday AND Sunday (2 per weekend for a total of 240 spins). Spins MUST be redeemed on the day or are otherwise lost.

Additionally, during this time every spin of the Rare Gacha will also provide Adjuster's Coins, similar to an event gacha. Note that the coin shop for this event will feature Magical Girls who appear in the anime, meaning that as more girls appear in new episodes they will be added to the shop. This shop includes both Unlimited and Limited Magical Girls.

UPDATE 9/17 - The campaign has now been extended a further week, meaning there will be an additional set of 10-spins on the weeknd of 9/25 and 9/26 (new total 260 spins). The Adjuster's Coin bonus and limited missions have also been extended to this date.
